You’re likely familiar with its cousins 'Deliciosa' and ‘Adansonii’, but have you met the super rare ‘Siltepecana’? Technically part of the Monstera genus, though also often known as “Silver Queen Philodendron” - whatever you call it, this species is glorious. Just as happy to grow in long vines as it is to climb against a stake or trellis, this plant's deeply veined leaves and metallic colouring guarantee it will stand out in your collection.
LOCATION AND LIGHT:
Similar to most Monstera and Philodendron, Siltepecana will grow its best in BRIGHT INDIRECT LIGHT, but will tolerate MEDIUM INDIRECT LIGHT as well. Place closely to North or East-facing windows, or pull back 5-10 feet from South or West-facing windows.
WATER:
Philodendron and Monstera prefer evenly moist soil, with a period to dry between waterings. Water when the top 2-3 inches of soil are dry to the touch, and allow all excess water to drain from the pot to avoid root rot!
