A Lady Palm or Rhapis Palm is an elegant durable plant that can adapt to almost all conditions. This gorgeous slow-growing palm has large, shiny, dark green fronds with blunt tips. Rhapis Palms are slow growers, have a long life span, and demands little in the way of care. These plants make a statement in any room and are fantastic for air purification. Rhapis Palms prefer BRIGHT INDIRECT LIGHT but can adapt to lower light.
LOCATION & LIGHT:
Lady Palms do not like bright, direct light. This will definitely lead to sunburn and crispy leaves. In order to look its best, this plant needs indirect light.
WATER:
You’ll have to remember that most of this plant’s roots grow straight down to the bottom of the pot, where they soak up most of the water, so the “water when the soil is dry 1-inch deep” rule doesn’t really apply here. If you’re in doubt that it needs to be watered, wait a few days.
In the winter, you will only need to water your plant once every week and a half or so. It won’t be using as much water and therefore doesn’t need to be watered quite as frequently.
Rhapis Palms are humidity lovers. Mist multiple times per week!
