Mimosa Pudica , also commonly known as the 'sensitive plant', is a creeping shrub known for its delicate purple pompom flowers and intriguing leaf movement. The leaves of a sensitive plant are lined with tiny hairs that are highly responsive to touch, temperature, and motion, folding inwards when triggered. The plant also closes its leaves at night. This response, called thigmomorphogenesis, is part of the plant’s natural defence mechanism. This shy friend makes a perfect addition to a HIGH LIGHT area.

LOCATION AND LIGHT:

Sensitive plants prefer high light, and will do best directly in front of a bright South or West facing window. If the leaves remain closed during the day, it indicates that the plant is not receiving enough light.  Prune your sensitive plant regularly to keep it full and bushy rather than leggy.

WATER:

Sensitive plants prefer to dry out about half way down the pot between waterings, and should be watered every 7-10 days or so.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE PLANTS HAVE SMALL THORNS ON THE STEM. BE CAREFUL EXPOSING TO CHILDREN AND PETS.

Plants and pots sold separately!
