CALATHEA 'MAUI QUEEN' 6" Grower Pot

CALATHEA are part of the Prayer Plant family. They fold up their leaves at night (as light levels decrease) and reopen them in the morning to absorb all the sun the day has to offer. Prayer Plants will stop "praying" only when something is off - if light levels are inadequate or watering is inconsistent. But plants that stop praying can bounce back with the right care!

LOCATION & LIGHT:

Calathea prefer LOW-BRIGHT INDIRECT LIGHT. They're sensitive plants that wish to be kept away from the sun's direct rays, but don't want to be kept in dark corners either! Place Calathea near a North or East-facing window, pulled back 1-4 feet, and kept away from harsh drafts.

WATER:

Calathea are not drought tolerant plants, and should be watered when their topsoil feels dry. Their fine roots prefer to be kept moist, and only need a little time between waterings. Gauge how much water is left in the pot by lifting it, (heavier pot = more water!), paying attention to its variances in weight. If your plant feels noticeably lighter than you're used to, it's time for a drink!

Calathea prefer a high-humidity environment, so misting is encouraged!
