Happy Holidays! A classic, festive plant, the Christmas Cactus is a fun gift or great addition to any plant collection. These easy-to-grow houseplants bloom while everything else is taking a break, so they’re great for adding a bit of colour inside during the winter, no matter your beliefs! These cacti (all part of genus Schlumbergera) are native to the coastal mountains of southeast Brazil and naturally grow among the tree branches or in cracks in the rocks at high elevations (2000 feet or more). In other words, they prefer a humid climate, not a dry one, so it’s important to water these cacti more regularly than most succulents.

Christmas Cacti prefer INDIRECT BRIGHT LIGHT.

LOCATION AND LIGHT:

Place your Christmas Cactus in a bright window for moderate light and some direct sun. 

WATER:

Water when the soil is dry all the way down the pot. It’s especially important to water well while the plant is flowering.
