Luckily, Homalomena is easier to care for than it is to pronounce! Naturally found under tree canopies on the floor of tropical rainforests, these plants thrive in moderate levels of light and appreciate an occasional misting to mimic the humid conditions of their original home. This variety sports vibrant lime-green leaves peppered with flecks of deep emerald.
LOCATION AND LIGHT:
Homalomena is a MEDIUM LIGHT plant. This species will do well in LOW - BRIGHT INDIRECT LIGHT, though won’t tolerate environments with no natural light or prolonged exposure to direct sun. Place 5-10 feet removed from South-facing or West-facing windows, or more closely to North-facing or East-facing windows.
WATER:
Homalomena live happily in evenly moist soil, but won’t tolerate overwatering. Water thoroughly when the first inch of soil has dried out. Allow excess water to drain to avoid unwelcome root rot!
