Often called the "Umbrella Tree", Schefflera are characterized by glossy oval leaves that form a circle around their flexible green stems.
SCHEFFLERA ALPINE are low-maintenance, compact growers, ideal for anyone looking to bring lush, tropical foliage into a smaller space! Hardy and adaptable, Schefflera Alpine can tolerate lower temperatures than its cousin, Schefflera Amate, making it a great option for the slightly more draft-prone spots in a house that can otherwise be difficult to fill.
LOCATION & LIGHT:
Schefflera prefer BRIGHT INDIRECT LIGHT, but can adapt to lower light conditions. Place your Schefflera directly in front of a North or East-facing window, or keep it pulled back 4-8 feet from Western or Southern exposures. In inadequate light, Schefflera will grow floppy or leggy.
WATER:
Schefflera are drought tolerant plants, and will rot when too much moisture is present. When the top 30% of the soil feels completely dry, it's time to give your plant a drink. Saturate the soil evenly every time you water, and be sure to do so more sparingly in lower-light conditions! Although Schefflera are not overly particular when it comes to humidity, they appreciate the occasional misting.
