This beautiful plant has spectacular leaves in different shades of white, red, pink, and green. Stromanthe is a relative of the Prayer plant and a member of the Maranta family. Like a Prayer plant, the leaves of a Stromanthe plant fold up at night as though praying. These plants produce reddish-pink flowers in the spring, but the flowers can’t compete with these plants' beautiful leaves. A Stromanthe plant is a spectacular looking plant, but challenging to grow; definitely not for beginners. Stromanthe prefer BRIGHT INDIRECT LIGHT.
LOCATION & LIGHT:
Place a Stromanthe plant in an area with bright indirect light but no direct sun, as the leaves will burn.
WATER:
Stromanthe like to be kept slightly moist at all times. Be careful not to over-water. In winter, allow the soil of a Stromanthe to dry out a little more, but never completely.
